"Personality Profile"

Bev Neblett

Workshop 1 A

This workshop will incorporate temperament theories to identify some key strategies for communicating and relating to those in your professional and personal life. You will carefully analyze the different “profiles” of your life by looking at your behaviour in the following contexts: life values, communications, at work, and in relationships. In this carefully crafted workshop, participants discover the basic personality types and thestrengths unique to each. It uses the metaphor of colour to describe the various wants and needs of you and your colleagues and gives many strategies for enhancing one’s work environment.

Beverley Neblett has 20 years of experience in post-secondary education and as Associate Dean of Durham College’s School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Employment Services’ manages academic upgrading, university preparation and various programs. Bev is a certified life coach and holds degrees from Wilfrid Laurier and Central Michigan University.

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss case situations and explore methods of dealing with disrespect "when it comes your way."

"Coping With Disruptive Personalities Parts 1 & 2"
Danielle van Dreunen

Workshops 2 B & 3 B

(all day)

Troublesome personality types exist in all work environments.  Have you ever wondered how to cope, what to do next or whether a disruptive incident should be reported or simply overlooked?  In this interactive workshop, you will learn to identify people with disruptive personality types and how to handle them more effectively.  You will also explore ways to set flexible standards, expectations and boundaries with others depending on their personality type. Learn how to better manage passive-aggressive behaviours, recognize "red flag" signals that are predictive of physical risk and know when or whether to report disruptive incidents.

Danielle van Dreunen joined St Lawrence College in 1987 as a faculty member in the School of Business, and is currently seconded as Coordinator of the College’s Development Centre.  Danielle’s portfolio includes professional development of faculty, managers and support staff.
