Bursaries for Students With Disabilities:
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) offers a Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) to provide assistance to students with disabilities. You must be assessed as being OSAP eligible (including Ontario Special Bursary) in order to apply for the bursary. The funds can be used to purchase goods and/or services directly related to both your disability and your education. For more information, please visit http://osap.gov.on.ca/eng/not_secure/bswd.htm
Our office procedures to access the BSWD are:
· speak wiht the Learning Skills Co-ordinator to review your documentation
· write your letter of request indicaiton what you need and why
· provide three price quotes for the item you are requesting
· complete BSWD form to access bursary funds
Loyalist College has a similar bursary available to Ontario students who are not eligible for the OSAP bursary. The amount available for these bursaries is limited and students are strongly recommended to apply for funds early in the academic year. Additional information can be obtained from SOAR.
