
Full-time students - Simply present your student card at the circulation desk when borrowing items. The library will also accept a copy of your current schedule printed from Banner along with a piece of photo identification, however your student card is preferred.
Part-time students (no student card issued) - Please present a copy of your current schedule printed from Banner along with a piece of photo identification at the circulation desk.
Distance Education students - Please present your student identification card if one has been issued or present a copy of your current schedule printed from Banner along with a piece of photo identification at the circulation desk.
Continuing Education students - please present a copy of your tuition receipt, or enrollment status or current schedule printed from Banner along with a piece of photo identification at the circulation desk.
Faculty/Support Staff/Administration (full and part-time) - Please provide your name to our circulation desk staff. If you are a new employee, please have your department secretary contact us to set-up your library/audio visual borrowing account.
Alumni - Students who have graduated from Loyalist College are eligible for an Alumni Membership Card. This is available from the Alumni Office. Alumni may borrow 5 items at one time. Videos and DVD's may not be borrowed and must be viewed in the library. Interlibrary-loan service and off-campus database access is not available to alumni.
High School Students - A letter of authorization, on your school's letterhead, signed by school Principal and photo ID are required to borrow Library books, however you may use our collection on-site at any time. Videos and DVD's may not be borrowed and must be viewed in the library. Interlibrary-loan service and off-campus database access is not available to high school students. Authorization letters are valid for the current academic year and will automatically expire on June 30th.
Community Members - The Parrott Centre offers a one-year renewable membership to members of the community for a $25.00 annual fee. The library will issue a special membership card which will include your library number. Videos and DVD's may not be borrowed and must be viewed in the library. Interlibrary-loan service and off-campus database access is not available to Community Members.
Loyalist-Brock Nursing Students studying at Brock - Nursing students who have completed their studies at Loyalist College and who are now studying at Brock University are considered to be Brock University students and do not receive Loyalist Alumni benefits. Brock Bachelor of Adult Education Students attending classes held at Loyalist College - Students in this program are considered to be Brock University students. Students/Faculty/Staff from other Ontario Community Colleges - All college staff, faculty or students may borrow in person from any Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology Library. The borrower must present a current identification card issued to the borrower by the home college. If a card is not available and/or no expiry date is indicated on the card, the lending library may request verification of current status. The borrower is responsible for all items borrowed and is subject to terms and fees set-out by the lending library. Direct Borrowing Agreement

Books - Books in our regular circulating collection may be borrowed for a two-week period. One two-week renewal is permitted, provided another patron has not placed a request for the item. (Click here for instructions to renew your books online.) Items in our reference collection (indicated by a yellow reference sticker on the book spine) may not be borrowed.
Videos/DVDs - Full-time students are permitted a two-day loan for off-campu previewing of most programs. A form must be signed accepting responsibility for damaged or lost programs before the programs are allowed off-campus. Faculty/Administration/Staff can preview programs in the library or at home. Usually a two-day loan applied but can be extended if necessary. Alumni/Community Users/Continuing Education Students are permitted on-campus viewing only. DVD/Video Borrowing Policy
Periodicals - Magazines and journals may be borrowed overnight only.
Reserve Material - Reserve material are items which faculty have placed in the library for use by their class. Loan periods for these items is set by the instructor and may be designated as In-Library Use Only, 1-day, 2-day, 3 day, or 1 week loans.
A late fine of .25¢ per day is charged for each item that is overdue. Fines continue to accrue for each day the library is open and will continue to accumulate until the item(s) is returned. No additional items may be borrowed until late fees have been paid in full. Late fees remain on your library account indefinitely. Failure to pay outstanding fees will result in a hold on your Banner account (unable to view marks or register for additional courses) and/or your diploma may be withheld until your account is cleared.
Lost or damaged items are invoiced at full replacement cost (including G.S.T & P.S.T as well as shipping and handling) plus a $10.00 processing fee. Invoices must be paid in full before additional material is borrowed. Failure to settle your account will result in a hold on your Banner account (unable to view marks or register for additional courses) and/or your diploma may be withheld until your account is cleared.
