Information Sheet for Applicants
The Centre for Early Childhood Education has been established as
an on-campus training centre or "lab school" for the post-secondary
Early Childhood Education program. It provides high quality childcare
in specially designed environments for children between 3 months
and 5 years of age. The Centre is licensed and supported by the
Ministry of Community and Social Services through fee subsidies
for eligible families.
The Centre offers a limited number of child care spaces. A total
of 42 children (10 toddlers and 32 pre-schoolers) can be accommodated
on a full-time basis. As a "workplace" childcare centre
priorities will be given to children of students and employees,
but up to five subsidized spaces and a potential of six full fee
spaces will be available to the community.
The Centre will provide care Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m.
to 5.10 p.m. and will be closed for statutory holidays and one week
at Christmas.
The fees schedule is found in the Application Booklet. The use
of diapers will be an additional cost. Subsidies from Hastings County
will be available to families that qualify for subsidized care,
the applicaton form is also attached.
Enrolment decisions will be made as quickly as possible following
receipt of the completed application, and decisions by Hastings
County if fee subsidies are involved. The limited number of available
spaces may also result in a waiting list of applicants. This application
does not guarantee a child care space.
