Catherine O'Rourke
Coordinator
Catherine is responsible for overseeing the administrative duties
of the SOAR office and the LOTF project. Catherine is primarily
involved in assuring that Loyalist College creates an accessible
environment where individuals are viewed on the basis of their abilities,
not disabilities. The Coordinator provides this through the dissemination
of information, services and programs that foster a philosophy of
respect, sensitivity and responsiveness.
Anthea Weese
Learning Strategist
Anthea is a learning strategist with Loyalist's Challengers Program
for students with learning disabilities. Anthea works one-on-one
with project participants helping them to identify and use their
learning strengths as they dedicate themselves to realizing their
goal of a college education. The Challengers is an initiative of
the Learning Opportunities Task Force's Virtual Centre for Excellence
in Learning Disability Integration.
Ted Morrison
Technical Support Service Worker
Ted is in charge of maintenance and the coordination of our Specialized
Computer Resource Lab. As well, he is responsible for recruiting,
training and supervising student employees and volunteers to access
the Specialized Computer Lab. The lab includes a wide range of adaptive
hardware and software programs.
Jodie Russett
Administrative Assistant
Jodie is responsible for general reception and office duties in
the SOAR office. Jodie provides clerical support for all members
of the staff and produces a monthly newsletter called "The
Challengers."
