Summer Jobs Service

  • A training initiative designed to help businesses meet their summer hiring needs and reduce payroll costs.

  • Funding is provided by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and delivered by Loyalist College.

  • We serve the City of Belleville and the Counties of Hastings, Lennox and Addington and Prince Edward.

Your Critical Hiring Decisions Just Got A LOT Easier!

Wage Subsidies

  • A wage subsidy of $2.00/hr. to a maximum of $700.00 per student.

  • Minimum amount of paperwork.

  • Fast, friendly and efficient service.

  • On-site contract signing.

Prescreened Candidate Referrals

  • We prescreen motivated students who have interests and abilities that match your job openings

  • By interviewing only pre-screened students, the expense of recruitment is reduced, as is the recruitment cycle.

Refer Your Own Candidates

  • If you have identified a student you would like to hire, Job Connect will verify their eligibility. The Provincial Government offers this service to employers and students at NO COST!

Eligibility for Employers

  • Business is registered in Ontario.

  • Hiring will complement existing staff and not result in lay-offs.

  • Your business must provide WSIB (or equivalent coverage ) and have third party liability insurance.

Eligibility for Students

  • 15 to 24 years of age (up to 29 with a disability).

  • Returning to full-time school in the fall.

  • Resident of Ontario and eligible to work in Canada.

  • New employee cannot be an immediate family member of the employer
