Danielle van Dreunen: Caught in the Middle - Coordinating & Team Building Amid Conflict

 

Together, we will explore:

  1. The kinds of conflict coordinators face

  2. Approaches to elicit cooperation/collaboration in your work teams

  3. The differences between positions and interests and between roles and responsibilities.

Upon completion of this workshop, you will have enhanced your ability to negotiate with team members by being able to:

  1. Comprehend the variables that lead to misunderstandings in interpersonal communications;

  2. Analyze the effect of team members’ behaviours on one another (the whole team);

  3. Project your own desire to collaborate;

  4. Assess the differences between the positions team members put forward and their underlying interests;

  5. Move people from competitive to cooperative communication.

 

Kelly Bailey: Facilitation Boot Camp

 

Our role often involves assisting various groups to make decisions or achieve consensus.  In this session, you’ll learn the core skills needed to make the most of the facilitator’s role.  It’s a nice job: lots of influence, little accountability!


By the end of this workshop participants will:

  1. Define facilitation and know when it’s the right approach

  2. Identify the core skills facilitators need

  3. Describe five process tools to assist with common facilitation tasks

 
 

Jean-Maurice Lafond: Team Building - The 5 W's

 

During this interactive workshop, participants will explore the basic principles and methods of Team Building. They will be able to answer the five following questions:

  1. What is Team Building?

  2. Why Team Building?

  3. Team Building is for whom?

  4. When is the time for Team Building?

  5. Where and how can we build a team?

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Define the concept of team building.

  2. Give a sense and utility to team work and team building

  3. Identify who are the team members and what are their respective roles

  4. Set the best time for team building

  5. Choose proper team building activities fitting there goals, environment and conditions of work

  6. Plan for follow-ups
