Danielle van Dreunen

 


Danielle van Dreunen is an organizational learning consultant fascinated by the work that people do, how they grow their practices and, most especially, how they can work well together for common aims.

 

Danielle was, for twenty years, a marketing communications professor at St. Lawrence College (SLC)  in Kingston and, most recently, founded and coordinated a professional development centre at SLC for three years. Her interests include photography, writing, gardening and travelling; her passion is jazz.

Kelly Bailey

 

Kelly Bailey, manager of Employee Development & Wellness at Durham College, co-ordinates the professional development programs for Support Staff and Administrative Staff, the new employee orientation program, as well as the college wellness program. Most recently, Kelly has launched a Leadership Development program as part of the College’s succession plan, which includes providing career coaching to employees. 

Kelly has been an active member of many planning committees for regional and provincial conferences. She has facilitated as well as spoken at several of those conferences. She represents Durham College on the Eastern Region College Committee of Human Resources Developers (CCHRD).

Jean-Maurice Lafond

 

Professor at La Cité collégiale since August 2004, Jean-Maurice Lafond took his first teaching experience at the University of Quebec in Outaouais as a lecturer. He also taught at the Department of Communication, University of Ottawa. Since May 2006, Mr. Lafond took the coordination of the Public Relations Program at La Cité collégiale.

Born in Montreal, Mr. Lafond has completed his High school Degree in Cornwall, Ontario. He holds a Bachelor Degree specialized in communications from the University of Ottawa and a Master Degree in Public Administration from L’École nationale d'administration publique du Québec.

During his career, Mr. Lafond has held various positions of management and communication in postsecondary institutions and in the field of health and social services. He led as Chief Executive Officer Centraide United Way Outaouais for four years. He has served on several professional boards. In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Lafond also acts as consultant for public and private organizations.

John Oughton

  John Oughton

John Oughton,  Centennial College's first Professor of Learning and Teaching, has taught in the Ontario college system for over 20 years. For the last six years, he has focused on providing faculty and curriculum development.

John, with an MA in English Literature, has now completed all but his dissertation for an PhD in Education at York University. He has published five books of poetry, over 300 articles, reviews and interviews, and is  completing a suspense novel set in Prince Edward County.

Kristen Deuzeman

 

Kristen Deuzeman, M.Ed., is a trained and certified counselor (CCPA, OCC) who has worked within Algonquin College since 2005 in both counseling and teaching capacities. Kristen specializes in designing and delivering group workshops aimed at promoting student career development, positive mental health and essential skills training. Presentations set out to foster the interconnection of psychological theory and the real world by creating an engaging dialogue accessible to adult learners.  She also provides individual counseling focused on assisting clients to develop strategies for self-empowerment giving rise to lasting change. Kristen has taught in the faculties of Police and Public Safety, and Media & Design, and continues to teach in General Arts & Science in psychology and human sexuality.

Karen Hodgins

 

Karen is currently working as a freelance curriculum consultant providing curriculum expertise to several Ontario colleges.  She retired in 2009 from the role of Curriculum Specialist in the Centre for Academic Excellence and Innovation, supporting faculty at Durham College and UOIT.  In this role, she was responsible for the coordination of the College Curriculum Unit, the development and implementation of curriculum related resources and workshops, and the development and implementation of strategic curriculum related initiatives.  Since 1984, Karen has taught in a variety of programs in two different colleges in Ontario.  Her career includes teaching, program coordination, and facilitation in a wide variety of situations, both inside and outside the college environment.  She has chaired or participated in a number of internal and external committees, program reviews and organizations and was chair of the Provincial Curriculum Development Affinity Group and the faculty representative on the Durham College Board of Governors.
