WHAT IS WALKSAFE?
The WalkSafe Service exists to provide safe escorts between
the on-campus facilities at Loyalist College. The service
is free of charge and open to all students, staff and faculty.
WHEN DOES WALKSAFE OPERATE?
The WalkSafe Service will be active until the end of April.
The hours of operation are from dusk until 12:30 a.m. WalkSafe
does, however, realize that there may be times when patrons may
require the service outside of our normal operating hours.
If this is the case, we ask that a pick up time be arranged in advance.
During evenings when The Shark Tank Pub is having special events,
the Walksafe Service will ensure that several teams are present
for the convenience of our patrons.
WHO MAKES UP A WALKSAFE TEAM?
Any WalkSafe team is made up of one male and one female volunteer.
All our volunteers have had a security check and are required to
attend organized training sessions.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Anyone who would like to use the WalkSafe Service must first
call the WalkSafe phone number (391-4901). The scheduled WalkSafe
team(s) will write down the location where the patron wishes to
be picked up and where he/she wishes to go. Then, a team of
one male and one female will walk to the pick up point and escort
the patron to their destination.
