Career Opportunities:
The qualified electronic engineering technician/technologist is
able to function effectively in the electronic environment of telecommunications
networks, digital computer systems, and process control applications.
Graduates of the program are in demand for positions as computer
technicians/technologists, technical service technologists, technical
salespeople, research and development staff, quality control analysts,
maintenance and test technicians/technologists, production control
representatives, and supervisors.
Program Description:
The first two years of the program give the student a solid knowledge
of modern electronics, computer systems and software, experience
in control system operations, and expertise in telecommunication
systems. Basic skills of soldering and circuit troubleshooting are
taught. Based on their career goals, students may elect to graduate
after Year Two with an Electronic Engineering Technician diploma.
The third year includes advanced studies at the technologist level
of computer operations, telecommunication systems, and control systems.

Admission Requirements:
Required academic preparation -
OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced,
(C), (U), (U/C) or (O)
Grade 12 mathematics, preferably Mathematics for College Technology
or
mature applicant
Note: Applicants with additional qualifications
are considered on an individual basis for possible advanced standing.
