Career Opportunities:
This business-oriented computer program prepares graduates for employment
in technical selling and consulting, servicing, program design,
and as technical support in the rapidly changing and growing field
of computer technology.
Graduates are in high demand for areas such as business, industry
and all levels of government. Specific employment opportunities
are computer programmer, computer systems operator, programmer/analyst,
computerized accountant, data technician, and software/hardware
technical support specialist.
Program Description:
The first year involves microcomputer training in applications software,
the fundamentals of programming, systems design and business skills.
The second year provides training in more complex programming using
a variety of computer languages on microcomputers. The operating
systems used to control computers are also studied. When students
choose to go on
to the third year, they receive training in database concepts, additional
advanced languages, data communications, networking, and one month
of work experience upon the completion of course work.

Admission Requirements:
Required academic preparation
OSSD/OSSGD or equivalent with courses at the general, advanced,
(C), (U), (M) or (O) level
