Two-Year Diploma
Career Opportunities:
Loyalist’s award-winning program provides a wide range of
courses so that students graduate with skills and concepts crucial
to the world of advertising. It appeals to those who are creatively
inclined, and who enjoy problem solving and communicating ideas
using words and design.
Graduates find employment in a variety of positions:
junior account executives, copywriters (print, broadcast and Internet),
digital production artists, layout and assembly artists, media planners,
buyers and researchers.
Program Description:
In the first year, the emphasis is on retail advertising.
In the second year, students look at a broader regional and national
scope of advertising, media planning and research, and other aspects
of the discipline such as sales promotion and public relations.
In the final semester, students develop a major advertising project.
This project is the practical application of all the theories and
skills that the student has learned; this provides the individual
with a broad base of experience. Students who have passed all courses
then spend a minimum of four weeks in on-the-job placement.
Students graduating from the Advertising program are able to reserve
a place in the post-graduate E-Journalism – Online Publishing
